If this is our first meeting, welcome! Let me first start by saying you made a
great choice to visit me here.
My goal is to provide you with the

to provide you with the information you need to understand the do’s and don’ts of
lash extensions. There are a lot of myths and misconceptions surrounding the application of lash extensions so I want to set the record straight. Knowledge is power and if you want to feel comfortable with your
decision to get lash extensions, you need to know the facts.
Now I know many of you know of someone, or maybe you yourself, have been given false information or an improper application of lash extensions from an untrained "specialist". This is becoming a common phenomenon in our industry and is giving us certified lash technicians a bad rap, so I’m here to provide you with some updated information on this industry.
Lash extensions originated in Korea and, believe it or not, have actually been around for about 30 years. Now if you truly want more information on that, the google can bring you up to top speed. What I'm going to talk to you about is all this mess I'm seeing walking around and/or laying on my table!
"Good Lashes Aren't Cheap & Cheap Lashes Aren't Good"
Yes, that's right! People often say to me " uh, well I can get it done cheaper, elsewhere...". That may be true but you know what they say “you only get what you pay for”. When clients choose their stylist solely based on price, what happens next can get really messy, and we inevitably meet again. Like any industry, there are the certified specialists and the “do-it-yourselfers”. Who are you going to trust with your eyes?
So let’s start by explaining the procedure. What does 1:1 mean?
The average person has 90 to 120 lashes per eye on the upper lid. One eyelash extension is glued directly onto each single eyelash and is repeated until all lashes are extended. There are circumstances where certain lashes cannot be extended but in most cases, they can be. As you can imagine, this procedure takes time, practice and skill! Some stylists have quick hands depending on their level of experience but it still takes time and precision to provide a full, wispy look.
OOOH LA LA LAshes
We've all seen KIM K, and all of those stars who may wear falsies or extensions, but you need to know this ... not all lashes are equal! That’s why I take the time to educate all of my clients during the initial consult once I see what type and strength of lash they have.
WHY? ... It’s important to understand the look that can be created based on the type of lashes you possess. It is unrealistic to expect your extensions to provide the same look as falsies. Yes, falsies are great to give a dramatic effect but your natural lash (NL) wouldn't be able to uphold it. Depending on the thickness and density of your lashes, they may be able to successfully hold a “falsie” look but usually only for an occasion and not for everyday wear.
"But Won't Extensions Damage your Lashes?"
This can be true.... but it doesn't have to be!
If properly applied by a certified lash technician, the extension will not damage your NL. When improperly applied, however, lash damage is a real concern. Take a close look at the image below:

When you see things like this, they may look pretty from a distance or straight on, but this application is damaging to the NL. So much so, that you may end up with gaps where lashes come out in chunks. Clumps are never a good thing and as you can see, excessive use of glue collects at the base causing the lashes to stick together.
On the brighter side of things, you should see more of this type if you choose your stylist wisely. Individualized light lashes, free of glue clumps, provides a clean, crisp look.
The stylist you choose should be knowledgeable and proud of their work. To avoid disappointment, be sure to ask your stylist questions and set reasonable expectations about the look you want to achieve before you proceed. They should also be able to advise you of the proper aftercare and hygiene needed to extend the life of your lashes. A good stylist will spend the time making you feel comfortable and won't rush through the application just to make time to fit in extra clients!
